SAP Sales Cloud and Service Cloud Release 2405 Briefing

The month of May means that a new release for the SAP Sales and Service Cloud will become available. In this blog I want to share with you the highlights of the new features and improvements from Release 2405.

On the weekend of May 4th, SAP will upgrade all test tenants to the 2405 release. The production environment will follow in the weekend of May 18th.

Platform & Integration

Migration V1 to V2

As you may know SAP is working hard on building a new cloud CRM system called SAP Sales Cloud V2. With the 2311 release SAP delivered the first step in transition tooling from V1 to V2: The Readiness Check tool. With release 2405 SAP proceeds further on the evolution of Transition Tools V1 – V2:

MS Teams Integration

A report is available that allows admins to analyze how and in which areas the MS Teams shareworkspace feature is being used.

UI Framework

SAP has created a global Search capabilities for Add-ons. This is an upgraded version of Enterprise search with improved search capabilities.

Another change in the UI Framework is the “Report case” option. Besides the name change, from “incident” to “case”, a segment has been included within the “Report Case” option. This segment gives you direct access to both the SAP Knowledge Base and SAP Chat Support.

Sales

Within the sales process the following enhancements are included in the new release:

 

Sales Quotes

In the Sales Quote work list the field Opportunity ID is now available via personalisation or adaptation mode. Also a new action “Remove all Items” in Product table is available for quotes.

Groupware Integration

A new Admin UI and User UI is introduced with this new release. This new Admin UI benefits Quicker Navigation, Aligned and unified better with the User UI. For the new User UI , SAP simplified the self configuration and the UI is better embedded into SAP Cloud for Customer.

Visits and Activity Management

The introduction of Mass Update functionality for Visit Status now enables a significant enhancement in the productivity of visit sales reps and sales managers.

Survey

Improved sequencing of questions in survey design is now available. Previously, the fixed sequence of questions in a survey could be frustrating to work with. However, with the latest release, users can now effortlessly rearrange the order of questions with just a single click.

Perfect Store

With the new release it’s now possible to view and display attachments from the perfect store report through enabled hyperlinks.

Library

You can now enable users with “Grant access” in the user change management of the library. Users with “Grant access” can now manage the folders to full extent, this is especially important when the owner is no longer part of the organisation.

Intelligent Sales add-on

Predictive Rollup (AI-driven rollup) is now available for forecast. This provides sales with a data-driven assessment on all deals in their organization.

Service

Within the service process the following enhancements are part of the new release:

Social Media Integration

Due to changes in X’s (formerly Twitter) licensing terms, SAP will discontinue support for direct X integration within Service Cloud Core by October 31, 2024.

Installed Base, Installation Point and Registered Product

Phone number of the Related contact to the unit’s location address, can now be maintained directly under the Product Location.

Ticket Management

There are some round-offs for Ticket Management:

  1. “Main Ticket” column added to the Tickets Embedded Component in Customer Overview.
  2. Sales Group ID field can now be made visible on the Ticket Detail View.
  3. Party role/UUID added to the A2X payload.

Agent Desktop Add-On

You can now choose between other 3rd party Knowledge Base vendors, outside the ones that are supported, for the Knowledge Base widget. Also SAP improved the search capabilities in the Agent Desktop. It’s now possible to search on other unique searchable fields like Account ID, Case ID, Serial Number which can be used to identify a customer.
